Memoirs Of A Geisha

Memoirs Of A Geisha by Arthur Golden

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. You get an inside look into the Japanese culture and a world that you may not have known existed. The story is told by our main character Chiyo-chan, later known as Sayuri, then Nitta Sayuri. The book offers a poetic and in-depth look that you completely miss in the movie version. The movie is nice because you get to visually see some of the beautiful Japanese culture (that was built on a set in LA, I think). Naturally the book is alot better. I recommend anyone who is interested by the Japanese culture to read this book.

Great book. Hijacked it from my girlfriend’s sister. No regrets. I loved learning about the geishas.
