I could be wrong, but I believe the preview for this film may be a little bit misleading. Everybody is laughing and happy. It almost looks like a comedy. And the film seems to be based off Viagra, if you believe the preview. Unfortunately not everything is as it seems. For starters, the majority of the film focuses on our main character Jamie, trying to sell drugs called Zoloft and Zithromax. This takes up much of the movie, it is not until later on that Viagra is introduced.
Other than the selling of drugs, the movie revolves around Jamie’s relationship with Maggie, played by Anne Hathaway. Maggie suffers from parkinson’s disease and struggles with the idea of being happy with someone, because she believes she would be a burden on them.
I suppose you could say that I was disappointed that the film was not a comedy like I was expecting. There are a few things one could consider funny, but in general I was not impressed. It was more sad, or trying to be serious. I would not suggest that you see this movie. Although I love Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, this one was a bit of a dud.
