City of Fallen Angels

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare

I absolutely love the Immortal Instruments series from Cassandra Clare. I was very excited when I learnt she would be expanding on the series, as well as creating a prequel series. I had intended to buy this book when it first came out, but I had many books ahead of this one, as well as a wedding to focus on. For my birthday I finally got the book. I started reading and was instantly hooked again. The end of the book came faster than I was expecting, and the worst part about it, which I was expecting, was the cliff hanger. There is more to the series so I knew to expect it but it still sucks.

All the old characters are back and we get to continue the adventure with them and watch them change as time goes on. As with the great characters come the dreaded villains. The concept for this story is brilliant and I love continuing the journey in this world. Im excited to watch the characters grow and am dying to read to the end of the series. What I am even more excited for is the films to come. I know films are never as good as the books, but it will just help build the world of the Immortal Instruments. I’m also really impressed with how Clare is able to have so many characters throughout the series and continue to have their distinct characters and their qualities shine through. The series is one of those stories where there are twists and turns and surprises everywhere.

I highly recommend that you read this book, and if you have not read the rest of the series yet, you need to! The next books wont be out for some time and are all spaced out, so you have lots of time to do this.
