Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
NUMBER 2 IN THE SERIES – PLEASE NOTE IF YOU HAVE NOT READ NUMBER 1 OR 1.5 THE BELOW WILL BE A SPOILER!
time for war.
Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.
She’s finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.
Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.
In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam’s life.” 1
The yo-yo of emotions continue in the second book in the series, Unravel Me. Adam is our main hero and we have already determined that Adam and Juliette will be together for ever and ever. As we learn more about people and their abilities, it begins to interfere with this future. Warner is also a major interference. We know that he is the bad guy, and continues to prove this, but there is something that draws us to him. Clearly we seek our own demise by setting ourselves on auto pilot, headed right into the eye of the storm.
War is an inevitability and Juliette still struggles to understand her abilities. She must come to terms with what she is and own up to her strength and her destructive power. Unfortunately, with war raging on, time isn’t a luxury.
Shocking new discoveries are made that give answers to the many mysteries we have come across throughout the series; however, many more questions arise.
The series continues to hold me in its grasp. The only negative I find is Juliette’s defeatist attitude, but then I try to remember what her character has gone through and it could only make sense. Not all our storybook characters can change over night.
Really looking forward to Fracture Me and the finale, Ignite Me. Also really hoping there is more news about a possible film! Please hurry.
