Movies NOT To See: November 2016 Edition

A compiled list to help you weed out the good vs the bad to save your time, money and brain cells. A link to the trailer has been provided in the title.

Arrival (Nov 11)

I might actually like Alien movies and although they added a few elements to make this one different than all the others, it still feels very much the same.

Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk (Nov 11)

A war movie about young war heroes trying to cope with what they had to see and do while receiving praise for something they don’t believe they should be receiving praise for.

Shut In (Nov 11)

A scary movie about a mom struggling to care for her son in an isolated area, while confronted with a young boy ghost.  I feel like there are scenes in the preview that give away whats really going on in the film that remind me of another movie I have already seen.

USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage (Nov 11)

Another war movie based on a true story of american heroes shipwrecked in shark infested waters.

Elle (Nov 11)

The film boats to be thrilling and suspenseful but it is also in french and despite the subtitles the trailer was rather dull.

The Monster (Nov 11)

The monster is an alienesque werewolf.  There… as if the trailer didn’t spoil it for you already.

Notes on Blindness (Nov 16)

More of a documentary tale about a man in the 80’s who lost his sight and began keeping audio journals of his experience.

Bleed For This (Nov 18)

Another based on a true story, this time about a boxer who gets in a severe car accident and won’t be able to fight again.  He refuses to accept his fate and trains against all odds to   get back in the ring.

Manchester By The Sea (Nov 18)

A brooding loner becomes a guardian to his nephew after his brother’s sudden passing.  He must face his past while trying to raise his nephew with all his loner awkwardness.

Nocturnal Animals (Nov 18)

The movie is about Amy Adams who did something horrible to her ex husband and he writes a book about her and dedicates it to her.  The story is then told through the telling of the story with the main characters playing parts from the book in a sort of flash back until we find out what happened.  Could be interesting but I imagine it would be a long movie leaving you thinking “What the heck did I just watch” when it’s over.

Friend Request (Nov 18) – MOVED TO DEC 9

There is forgetting to log out of your Facebook while at the Apple store, but it’s entirely different when a ghost hacks your page.  Dun, Dun, Dun.

A Street Cat Named Bob (Nov 18)

The only good thing about this movie is the cat.  And if I wanted to watch a movie about a cat I would go on youtube and watch many many cats all compiled into one video that would be more entertaining than this 2 hour movie.

Bad Santa 2 (Nov 18)

I never saw the first one and I sure don’t have any interest in seeing this one, Christmas or not.
