Movies To See: November 2016 Edition

A compiled list to help you weed out the good vs the bad to save your time, money and brain cells. A link to the trailer has been provided in the title.

The Eagle Huntress (Nov 2)

Not something I would see in theatres and to be honest probably won’t watch at all for lack of time, but the film is a true story about a young Mongolian girl who is learning the family tradition of hunting with Golden Eagles.  This tradition is normally passed on from father to son and Aisholpan is training to be the first female to hunt with a Golden Eagle in 2,000 yrs.

Doctor Strange (Nov 4)

An epic new Marvel film that looks pretty amazing.

Trolls (Nov 4)

I know everyone will want to see this because they think it will bring back the nostalgic feeling of troll dolls and also because of Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick, but I’m not entirely convinced.  I would consider watching it once the hype is gone and people realize it’s not as amazing as it really looks, then I will be willing to attempt it to try to prove me wrong.

Hacksaw Ridge (Nov 4)

The extraordinary true story of a soldier you have never heard of.  Desmond T. Doss saved 75 men in Okinawa during WWII without firing a single bullet.  He believed in saving and helping rather than killing and fighting.  Not usually a huge war movie fan but I think hollywoods way of embellishing could make this one worth while.

Loving (Nov 4)

Another based on a true story with hollywood pizzaz about real life mixed race couple Richard and Mildred Loving and their fight to just live as they are.

Almost Christmas (Nov 11)

Love me some Christmas movies.  A comedy about a dysfunctional family trying to get along for their first christmas after losing their mom.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them (Nov 18)

So very excited to continue the Harry Potter franchise.

The Edge of Seventeen (Nov 18)

I’m normally not into these quirky confused teen growing up movies and the fact that it comes out the same day as Fantastic Beasts just destroyed any chance it may have had but I would consider this one day on Netflix.  Maybe.

The Take (Nov 18)

Apparently I seem to have a thing for secret agent action movies.  It may not be the best movie but still enjoyable.

Moana (Nov 23)

The latest from Disney taking on the legend of Maui and Moana in this island adventure.

Allied (Nov 23)

Starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard this WWII film looks amazing.
