Movies TO See. A compiled list to help you weed out the good vs the bad to save your time, money and brain cells. A link to the preview has been provided in the title.
October is looking like a great month for movies.
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a preview for a space movie I’ve actually wanted to see. A bit of Cast Away with an intriguing space twist.
Inspired by true events, Freeheld stars Julianne Moore and Ellen Paige in this marriage equality film. Looks like a good film, but a bit too heavy.
Based on the true story starring Malala, a biography and her story of how she was shot in the head for suggesting a girl go to school.
So looking forward to this. A live action Peter Pan prequel where Hook and Peter are allies. The visuals look great as well.
Alright so this one is more so for you, and only a tiny bit for me. I could see there being funny parts to it, but it won’t be anything great.
Biographies don’t rank too high on my lists of things I usually want to see. Steve Jobs lived a pretty interesting life. There was a previous biography film but this one has the star power to back it up.
A simple small town story starring some big names like Ashley Judd, Patrick Wilson, Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Krakowski and Jenna Elfman. Won’t be seeing it in theatres but hate to say it, I’m interested.
You read that correctly, Goosebumps! As part of our childhood revamp comes a mish mash film featuring a lot of our childhood favourites. The film stars Jack Black as R.L. Stine, the author of the Goosebumps books, when unlocked release the monsters from within the stories. Sure it looks cheesy and will probably ruin our good memories but it’s already been made, we can’t stop it now so just enjoy it for what its worth.
This film looks absolutely amazing! Beautifully gothic victorian, fantastical, dark and ghostly with perfect visuals.
I must be feeling very generous, but I must say this movie looks pretty darn good. The true story of a U.S. lawyer who is put to the task of negotiating the release of a captured American pilot for a soviet spy during the Cold War.
The Last Witch Hunter (Oct 23)
This movie is right up my alley. Starring Vin Diesel and creepy Elijah Wood, comes a fun movie with a great fantasy plot and cool visuals. It’s like a mix of Underworld and Lord of the Rings.
Bill Murray stars as a talent manager who gets stranded in Afghanistan without his talent. Don’t think I will see this but I think it would interest a few of you.
A thrilling crime film starring Julia Roberts, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Nicole Kidman. I’m thinking this might be a must see.
Jem and the Holograms (Oct 23)
I will get some shocked responses when you read this, but I never saw any Jem and the Holograms episodes. I imagine this won’t be as great, but I will probably check it out.
Based on true events of the women’s fight for equality in Britain. Starring Meryl Streep, Helena Bonham Carter, Carey Mulligan, and many other familiar faces. Doubtful I will see it in theatres but still a good watch.
